Gloria Nyanja is currently a Project Assistant for the Y Act, Youth in Action Project. She primarily supports the team’s operational functions ensuring that the required capacity is available to achieve the project’s goals and objectives. Prior to joining the team, Gloria studied a dual Masters in Public Health and Health Promotion from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia and worked with Youth Empowerment against HIV (YEAH), an Australian youth-led organisation that provides comprehensive sexual education and advocates for sexual and reproductive health rights amongst the youth.
She is driven by the concept of equity, particularly the provision of quality health care to disadvantaged groups and she is actively preparing herself to take up the cause of those who most need access to health care.
Fun Facts: Gloria is a planner by all standards! Catch her with a notebook and pen jotting down the day’s activities and ticking them off as she goes along.
When Gloria isn’t busy during the week strengthening capacity building skills of youth advocates she’s even busier on weekends bringing out her creativity, planning fun parties for family and friends. She has a knack for gorgeous décor and the prettiest of trinkets that add a special touch to intimate gatherings.
